Biography
Graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Sandy started playing the cello at 7 under the guidance of Mr Eddie Zong (Former Principal Bass, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra) and she now studies with Dr Artem Konstantinov (Principal Cello, City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong). Being awarded with distinction in Licentiate of Trinity College London (LTCL) in 2016, Sandy continues to study in pursuit of further education. As an active cellist, Sandy has been performing with different orchestras since the young age of 8, including the Chung Chi Orchestra of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Pro Arte Orchestra of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Children’s Symphony Orchestra. Currently, she is a freelance cellist at Hong Kong String Orchestra. In addition, she was the principal cellist in Hong Kong Medical Association Orchestra, as well as in both primary and secondary schools (C.C.C. Kei Wan Primary School (Aldrich Bay), St. Paul’s Secondary School). Apart from orchestral performance, she has been participating in wedding gigs, public celebration events and musicals. Sandy is enthusiastic in both teaching and performing, in which she emphasizes on appreciating music and communicating effectively through music. As a life-long goal, Sandy will continue to devote more in following her dream to become a successful cellist. 郭老師畢業於香港中文大學,七歲始隨宗小謙先生(香港管弦樂團前低音大提琴首席)習琴,現師隨Dr Artem Konstantinov(香港城市室樂團大提琴首席)學習,並以優異成績考獲倫敦聖三一音樂學院大提琴演奏文憑(LTCL)。郭老師學習大提琴多年,活躍於各項樂團演奏,就讀小學及中學期間(中華基督教會基灣小學(愛蝶灣)、聖保祿中學)已任為首席及負責樂曲獨奏,亦曾於香港醫學會管弦樂團擔任首席,其他樂團則包括香港中文大學崇基管弦樂團、Pro Arte Orchestra of Hong Kong 以及香港兒童交響樂團等。她現為香港弦樂團的特約樂手,亦參與婚禮伴奏、音樂劇及大型慶祝活動演奏。此外,郭老師自修讀大學起便在不同音樂中心及學校任教,致力於推廣大提琴及古典音樂教育。
