透過音樂教育、因材施教、培養和提升學生音樂感和藝術鑑賞能力。 Janice Chan Pop-Jazz Vocalist, Classical-Pop Pianist, Composer, Songwriter, Educator Janice has 10+years in live music performing, acting and teaching experiences. She has been an active vocalist (mainly in Jazz, Pop and soul R&B), song-writer, composer, educator and freelance actress in town. Due to her versatile vocal range from contra-alto to mezzo soprano, she can handle many different musical genres at ease. Janice is a multi-talented Chinese-Canadian singer, actress, and musician in town. Graduated from Economics and Music at Simon Fraser University in BC, Canada, her first published film score for the independent film "Naive" led her to become a member of CASH (Composers & Authors Society of Hong Kong) and also opened her door to acting. Her public presence includes TV commercials and series, short films, music livehouses, and private functions. She also obtained Piano Performance ATCL in Trinity College of Music, London and Advanced Certificate in Vocal Techniques and Performing Vocalist in Baron School of Music. Started with a classical music background, Janice has pivoted to jazz gradually by actively performing in livehouses, restaurants, and bars in Hong Kong, Taipei, and Tokyo such as MAJI MAJI (Taipei), Coffee Bigaku (Tokyo), Visage one, Gecko, RevTime, Pistol Lounge, Lemna of the alchemist, Red Idea Cafe, Holly Brown Coffee, Peel Fresco, Dada Bar & Lounge @ Hotel Luxe Manor, Terrible Baby Lounge @ Eaton Hotel, LauBak Livehouse, G&V music, Cafe Sausalito, Blue House, HMV Kafe, Les Pucelles, Lost Stars Livehouse etc. since late 2015. She formed "Janice & Her Cool Cats" in 2019. Her debut original jazz EP, "Reminiscing...", was released in both physical and digital formats in April 2023. Her musical influences include Ella Fitzgerald, her mentor Geila Zilkha, Fay Claassen, Sinne Eeg, Brad Mehldau etc. Besides performing, Janice is also a pop/classical piano teacher, pop/jazz voice coach, an acapella instructor and a toddler music playgroup teacher for 10 years.
