林老師現正修讀香港中文大學音樂文學碩士課程，她已考獲英國皇家音樂學院鋼琴高級演奏文憑(LRSM)、英國皇家音樂學院聯合委員會鋼琴文憑(DipABRSM)、樂理八級及長笛八級，並使用Yamaha三角琴授課。林老師演出經驗豐富，是香港童軍青年管樂團的長笛手，獲邀參與多項大型演出。她亦於聖約翰座堂的午間音樂會表演鋼琴獨奏及香港文化中心主辦的管風琴教育系列學生音樂會演出。此外，林老師也活躍於伴奏項目，曾多次為不同考試及比賽伴奏。 林老師熱愛音樂，對不同音樂教學法如：達爾克羅茲(Dalcroze)及高大宜(Kodaly) 有深入理解，並運用於日常教學當中。她深信「授人以魚不如授之以漁」的道理，認為教會學生自學、自律與教授音樂知識、演奏技巧同樣重要，故著重透過音樂培養學生自覺及獨立思考的能力，使學生能持之以恆地學習鋼琴及音樂，在進步之中能感受及欣賞到音樂的美好，讓學習樂器及音樂成為長遠的興趣及目標。 Miss Lam is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Music at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has attained a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music (LRSM) in Piano Performance, DipABRSM in Piano Performace, ABRSM Grade 8 in Flute and also Grade 8 Theory. She teaches on a Yamaha Grand piano. Miss Lam has vast experience in performing; she is a flautist in the Hong Kong Scout Youth Symphonic Band and has been invited to many grand performances. She has also performed piano solo at St John’s Cathedral and the Organ Education Series Student Concerts, hosted by the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Moreover, Miss Lam is also active in accompaniment projects: she has served as an accompanist for many different exams and competitions. Miss Lam has an immense passion for music, and is well-versed in different methods of music teaching such as Dalcroze and Kodaly and has adapted those techniques into her daily teaching. She firmly believes in the proverb “To teach someone how to fish is better than to just give him a fish”, and maintains that teaching students the concepts of self-study and self-discipline is equally important to musical knowledge and performance skills. By utilizing music to cultivate each student’s self-consciousness and critical thinking, she enables students to persevere at learning the piano and music, and through their successive progression, students can feel and appreciate the beauty and charm of music and fostering a lifelong interest in learning music.
